08/April/2017 - Go Fish!

The big excitement of the day was a trip Dodong, Kuya, and Old Grump made to the Go Fish Eduction Center in Perry, Georgia.

All three of them had a great time!

Grump attempted to take pics of the cool fish in the giant outdoor fish ponds.  Many of his pics were simply reflections of himself in the thick glass of the viewing window.

The boys had fun running about.

There are alligators in there!

That's a big fish!

Of course, Grump had to act silly!

Kuya and Dodong were more respectful.

The boys also did some "boating" and "fishing".

Dodong did a bit of "fishing", but he mostly just steered the boat.

Going to Go Fish wasn't all we did!  We also made a trip to Warner Robbins, picking up some essentials at one of the Filipino stores there, and then getting a yummy early dinner at Saigon Noodle House, a Vietnamese restaurant.

Later we went shopping.  Whilst Grump and Sweetie went into the store, Lola, Kuya, and Dodong stayed in the car.  Kuya took some pics:

Finally back home, Grump demonstrated that Dodong can be the tallest member of the family when he stands on Grump's shoulders:

07/April/2017 - TGIF!!

It's Friday: Hooray!!

This was the view out a window of the office building where Grump works.  The weather was MUCH, MUCH better today than it was earlier in the week.

Clear skies over Columbus, Georgia

Back home, we cut an amaryllis flower that had been damaged by the heavy winds earlier in the week, and brought it inside.

We also had visitors!  Dodong's friend Miss C. came over for a quick chat.

06/April/2017 - Life Goes On

As y'all know, for the time being Grump is forced to work out of town, in Columbus, Georgia.

Meanwhile ..... back home, life goes on.

Kuya and Dodong have fun playing together.

By the end of the day, Kuya is sad that he has to stop the fun and go to bed.

Peace!

05/April/2017 - Stuck at Work

For Grump, it was just another Hump Day during which he was stuck at work.  Part of "being stuck" was due to the odd weather.  Although it was very calm outside, the weather conditions were ideal for a tornado strike, so everyone was a bit edgy.  Yuck.  Stupid weather!!

For breakfast he added some dried cherries to the oatmeal-chia seed-raisin mix that Sweetie makes for him.  It was very yummy!

For dinner he has been chewing on these delicious crackers:

04/April/2017 - Beautiful Day!

Wow ...... the weather today was gorgeous!  After the ridiculous high winds of yesterday, it was a nice treat to be able to walk outside and enjoy the sunshine.

Back home, Dodong responded to this good news by ....... pooping so profusely that it leaking out through his diaper and soiled his pants!

Taking advantage of the beautiful weather, Old Grump went for a long, long walk during his lunch break, snapping pics of the pretty old Victorian houses that he passed.

You can see those pics here:  http://planetarypics.blogspot.com/2017/04/more-columbus-ga-pics-march2017.html.

For dinner, he and a coworker went to a pizza place downtown, Your Pie.  The pizza was yummy, but kinda small; both he and the coworker were still hungry after they left the restaurant.

03/April/2017 - Stormy Monday

It was an odd day in Columbus, GA, which is where Grump found himself, it being Monday and all.  (You DO know that Grump works in Columbus, GA, don't you?)  A tornado warning just before lunch forced him and all his coworkers down into rooms on the first floor to wait out the high winds.

Yuck!

I suppose, other than this nonsense, that the excitement of the day was a series of selfies Kuya snapped and sent to Old Grump.

Old Grump responded to this be getting attacked by a banana.

Oh well ....... let's leave these two guys to their silliness.

Peace!

02/April/2017 - Fun Day Sunday!

Today was a really, really fun day for us!

But it didn't start out too well.  Soon after we got out of bed, Grump chortled and snarled at everyone to "Hurry up!" so we could arrive downtown early.  It was the last day of the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival, and Grump wanted us all to get there before the huge crowds arrived.

So we all got washed up and dressed as quickly as we could, and zipped down to the festival grounds to find ...... deserted parking lots and closed entrance gates.  The Cherry Blossom Festival didn't open today until noon, and here it was not quite 10:00 am yet.

Oops!

But everything worked out okay.  Grump felt guilty about rushing us all for no reason, so he treated us to brunch at Dovetail, a restaurant we all love.  After a yummy brunch, we all went to the Cherry Blossom Festival.

We looked nice in our pink outfits, even if the parking lot when we first arrived was mostly empty.

You didn't even have to be human to wear pink today!

Grump is "cruising for a bruising" when he acts like this!

Not all the flowers were ruined by the March 14th cold blast.

The Dovetail is a fantastic restaurant located on Cherry Street in downtown Macon.

The boys had to behave today, as we were being "observed"!

After brunch, we headed off with full tummies to the festival grounds.  Rides were free until 1:00 pm, so we took advantage of that discount.  First Kuya and Grump rode a Ferris wheel.

Getting up high!

Very high now!

After the Ferris wheel Kuya and Dodong took a train ride.

Finally, Sweetie and Lola foolishly went with Kuya and Dodong on some nasty spinning ride.  Grump, having experience as an adult riding these spinning carnival rides, refused to get on!

Smiling as the ride starts

OMG - we survived!!

If you're older than 18, ride at your own risk!

After the ride the kids were just fine, but Lola and Sweetie both thought they were going to pass out!

Holding onto Dodong for stability

I will NEVER do that again!!

What better way to settle a spinning head and stomach than to go get some frozen yogurt at the superb Macon Swirls?

It was a wonderful ending to a wonderful day!

Peace!
