A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 065

06/March/2015, Day 065.  Friday.

Check it out!  Lola has new teeth!

As you may know, she is currently in the Philippines, and while there she got some brand new false teeth.  Dental work is much cheaper in the Philippines than in the United States, (like all health care, I suppose), so this was a great time for her to get her choppers fixed.

Meanwhile, back here in central Georgia it was another workday for Grump.  It wasn't as hectic as yesterday, but he did arrive home a bit stressed, which was no doubt amplified by the usual weekend backup on the interstate.

Once home, things improved drastically, primarily because Sweetie had cooked up a batch of homemade spaghetti sauce, which she poured over some perfectly cooked linguini.  Yum, yum, yum!  Grump ate so much he may have trouble sleeping tonight, but what the heck, it was worth it!

Now that Dodong has four teeth he has acquired the unpleasant habit of biting.  He was biting Grump's shirt tonight as he held him, and if you let him, he will bite your hand.  It hurts!  I have absolutely no idea how Sweetie is able to still breast feed him.  A mother's love is an amazing thing!

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 064

05/March/2015, Day 064.  Thursday.

Same old story: we, (Sweetie and Grump), are very tired.  Kids are exhausting to their parents!

The nice weather we've had here in central Georgia got blown away by a cold wind this afternoon.  Now it is gonna frost again for a few nights.  Phooey!

Sweetie made a dish of rice, ramien noodles, egg, and galunggong.  Galunggong is a small, relatively mild flavored fish; it's even mild enough that Old Grump likes it.  Apparently it is also very popular in the Philippines, at least according to these articles:

http://tagaloglang.com/Tagalog-English-Dictionary/English-Translation-of-Tagalog-Word/galunggong.html

http://www.interaksyon.com/business/66207/tilapia-replaces-galunggong-as-poor-filipinos-meat----nscb

While we're on the subject of links, not family life, (Grump had a HORRID day at work today, which he'd just as soon rather forget than talk about), here's a link to my vote for most hypocritical psychopath to rise to political power in the last several hundred years, and then a link to one of his more pathetic apologists:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximilien_Robespierre

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Mathiez

What mental illnes compels someone to become a Robespierre, Hitler, or Stalin?  Do we all have within us the potential to become monsters?  If so, do we also contain the opposite potential, to become angels?

If becomming a monster or an angel is a choice we make, how can we know we are making the proper choice?  If we choose the wrong path, is there still time to change the road we're on?

Will truth ever come to you at last?  Will all be one, and one be all, and we all know to be a rock and not to roll?*

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 063

04/March/2015, Day 063.  Wednesday.

¡Ay, caramba!  So much to do; so little time!

Grump and Sweetie actually got some sleep last night, so they are rested up, and ready to take on the world!  Unfortunately, they have much more than they can handle already just trying to maintain a semblance of order in the house, while raising two young kids.

It's already bedtime, and Sweetie is beginning to get grumpy.  There isn't time to do a daily post justice, other than the usual we-all-were-fine-school-and-work-were-wonderful-it-was-nice-weather-Sweetie-cooked-a-great-meal-Dodong-seems-over-his-cold speil.  So how about some links, celebrating the wonderfulness of amateurs?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palais_ideal  -  Hooray for Ferdinand Cheval!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coral_Castle  -  Hooray for Edward Leedskalnin!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watts_Towers  -  Hooray for Sabato Rodia

The point of all this is to NEVER let someone tell you that you can't do something, if you put your mind to it.  You can even have your own webpage, or blog!

We have several webpages/blogs, each of which is obviously an amatuer effort.  But nowhere do we embrace our own lack of "professionalism" more than on http://www.arph001.com/ .  Admittedly that site is in need of a major overhaul, (Grump started it when he was actively writing online articles for other sites), but as cruddy as it may be right now, it is OUR site.  Maybe someday we'll "spiff it up", and proudly show it off.  Or maybe not.  Maybe we'll keep it just the way it is, and appreciate it for all its quirks and flaws.

Good night!

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 062

03/March/2015, Day 062.  Tuesday.

This lack of sleep is getting ridiculous!  Grump was so tired he couldn't function well at work, and made several very stupid mistakes.  Sweetie seems to be holding up better than him, but then she doesn't seem to need much sleep anyway.

So what's new then?  Who knows?  We're wandering about in a haze, and probably are missing all sorts of wondrous happenings due to fatigue.

Grump's best friend, The Green Angel, called last night.  He's been going through a bit of a funk recently, so why not wish him some good vibes.  He could use it!

Despite all the tiredness, Sweetie cooked a fantastic meal tonight.  It was a jackfruit stew/salad, (unripe jackfruit is more of a veggie than a fruit), with silverfish cakes.  Yum, yum, yum!!

I guess that's it for today.  If you have time, check out these personal finance blogs.  They are inspiring!

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 061

02/March/2015, Day 061.  Monday.

Tiredness, tiredness, and more tiredness!  Are Sweetie and Grump doomed to awake every morning at 4:00 am?

After dragging butt through the day, at 7:00 pm Grump remembered he had a ClickBank University webinar to attend.  This didn't make Sweetie too happy, (she was hoping Grump would spend the evening helping her with the kids), but he insisted on logging into it.

Mistake #1: he now had an unhappy wife.

The webinar was over an hour long, and consisted of 50 minutes of general attitude piffle, ("you've got to tune your mind for success", and other such crap), followed by a sales pitch for more advanced training for "only" $997.00 .  Grr!!!

Mistake #2: wasting an hour of his time on ClickBank University nonsense.

I'll write more about this mess on my "Novice Affiliate" series, but for the time being take my advice and save yourself $47.00 by NOT joining CB U.  They aren't as much of a stinking scam as "My Online Income System", at least not yet, but that's solely because they haven't sold Grump's email ID and Phone number.  (Once again, at least not yet ..... )

So now it is late, Sweetie is irritated, and Grump will probably have to buy her dinner tomorrow to make up for this wasted evening.

Oh ...... and I forgot to mention, but it appears that The King is back, (ugh!), adding to Sweetie's malaise.

It's definitely time for bed now!

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 060

01/March/2015, Day 060.  Sunday.

The good news is that Dodong did not wake up wailing at 4:00 am this morning.  The bad news is that he did wake up wailing this morning, this time at a more leisurely 5:00 am!

Ugh!  Sweetie and Grump are really tired now.

We had planned to go to church, but ..... well, after having an early breakfast at Panera, (curtesy of some gift cards we got from American Express for spending such a ludicrous amount of money via our credit card), once back home Grump crawled into bed and fell asleep for a few hours.

This makes two weeks in a row we've missed church.  Shame, shame, shame!

It was still basically cold, wet weather here in central Georgia, so besides the breakfast outing, and a quick haircut for Kuya and Grump, we didn't do a whole lot.  Well, that's not quite true.  Sweetie cooked, washed dishes, and cleaned the kitchen floor.  But you know how it goes; a mama's work is never done!

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 059

28/February/2015, Day 059.  Saturday.

As February staggers to a close, we're still not millionaires.  Phooey!

Grump and Sweetie, (particularly Grump), look forward to weekends, because it gives them a chance to sleep in.  So imagine their disappointment and frustration when Dodong awoke this morning at 4:00 am, and then proceeded to wake up Kuya with his wailings.

Despite the earlier hour Kuya acted as if he had received a massive zap of electrical energy, and bounced around the house for hours.  He only fell asleep again for an hour or so in the car, as we were out shopping, but quickly recharged his batteries and resumed his frantic activity once we got home.

Ugh!  To say Grump and Sweetie are both very tired right now is an understatement.  But despite their fatigue, they did accomplish a lot today.  Sweetie cooked lunch and dinner, washed some dishes left over from yesterday, and took care of her three boys, (two young, one old).  Grump uploaded another affiliate marketing video to YouTube, and completed another post about his affiliate marketing experiences.

Although its barely 7:00 pm, as far as Grump and Sweetie are concerned it's time to begin getting ready for bed.  Good night!
