16/March/2017 - Did the Plants Live?

Would you believe in got down to the mid-twenties, (Fahrenheit), last night in Macon, Georgia?  This was after a very mild winter, and several weeks of nice warm weather.

Most of the plants had begun to grow, putting out tender new growth, so I think from a horticultural perspective this spring will be a disaster.

Grump went out briefly at lunch, took a few weird pics, then hurried back inside.  It was simply too cold to walk!

For dinner he cut into a banana that I don't believe even Venerable Watson could eat, as it was rotten from the INSIDE!

Back home, Kuya entertained Sweetie by plugging up and then overflowing the toilet!  (What fun!)

Dodong was his usual happy self ......

....... while Kuya contemplated the intricacies of Minecraft.

Before going to bed, Kuya took some selfies:

So sad ..... time to go to bed now!

Peace!

15/March/2017 - Sloppy Kuya

Sweetie has been homeschooling Kuya.  Sometimes this is a pleasant task.  Other times it can be so frustrating that she wants to pull out her hair.

For example, check out this alleged "writing" that Kuya did:

Sloppy Writing

It's enough to make anyone sad!

Fortunately, (after LOTS of encouragement and yelling from Sweetie), Kuya did eventually concentrate, and write much more legibly.

Much better writing

Peace!

14/March/2017 - Preparing for the COLD

It was another work day for Old Grump.

He prepared his oatmeal with some green tea mix this morning.  Yum, yummy!

Oatmeal before the "Green Tea" mix was added.  (Mix is in cup on the right.)

For dinner, Grump went with two co-workers, (Venerable Watson and Mr. Bits-and-Bytes), to a very good Mexican restaurant, El Vaquero.  This is the best Mexican restaurant that Grump has eaten at in Columbus so far.

But the big news of the day was the impending cold front.

After an exceptionally mild winter, the dorks in charge of the weather for the eastern USA decided to demonstrate their exceptional incompetence once again by sending an extremely frigid arctic front our way.

Sweetie an Lola made a valiant effort to save our already sprouting fig trees by wrapping them up:

Preparing for the COLD

Whether this will help or not remains to be seen.

Inspired by the Mother Nature's insanity, Dodong took to trashing Kuya's desk and chair.

13/March/2017 - Back to Work

Not only was it a back-to-work Monday, (ugh!), but it was also the first early morning after the clocks had been set ahead one hour for the semi-annual silliness know as Daylight Saving Time.  (Double ugh!!)

But the Old Grump still managed to make it to his job more-or-less on time, and survive another dreaded Monday.

Old Grump at work.  Notice the loss of hair due to haircut the day before.

Now Grump is a true believer in the saying that, "When the going gets tough, the tough get ..... silly!"  So during lunch he played with his food:

What a silly fellow, huh?

Peace!

12/March/2017 - Quiet Sunday

It was a very quiet Sunday.  We did not go to church because Kuya was still on some prescription medicine he was taking for an ear infection he had earlier in the week.

Dodong demonstrated his contortionist skills:

Mostly we just "relaxed", (lay about the house!):

I suppose the highlight of the day was a quick trip to a local discount store.

Grump bought some, (what else?), TEA!

Dodong even got in the shopping mood, and bought this little turtle.

11/March/2017 - Saturday at the Museum

Saturday afternoon Dodong, Kuya, and Grump went to the Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences:

The weather was still pleasant, so we walked around the outdoor "garden" a bit.

As this series of pics shows, Dodong is starting to be able to keep up with Kuya!

Resting after running

The garden/nature trail is more of a "woodland garden", with several wildflowers and native flowering trees.

Two very wild flowers!

Peace!

10/March/2017 - Friday! Hooray!!

Friday finally rolled around again, THANK GOD!!

During his lunch break Grump strolled around and took some pics of redbud blooms:

He also couldn't resist taking a pic of the odd angles formed by these buildings:

That's pretty much it for today.

Peace!
