A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 358

24/December/2014, Day 358. Wednesday.

It was a rainy but relatively warm day before Christmas.  Not much happened at work, until Grump got into an argument with a co-worker, (you KNOW WHO YOU ARE, Mr. Az!), about the realities of peak oil.  Grump believes that peak oil is a real phenomenon, but had to contend with two articles from groups he usually admires that claimed peak oil was a bunch of nonsense:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2011/10/19/peak-oil-entirely-nonsense-as-is-peak-gas/

http://mises.org/blog/peak-oil-was-nonsense-and-ghost-1981-oil-price-crash-looms

Aahh!!  Cognitive disonance!

On further reflection, Grump believes the authors of these articles are full of beans, as they are intentionally distorting the theory of peak oil to poke holes in it.  (For a good description of peak oil, read here:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peak_oil )

Besides that tempest in a teapot, not much happened.  We are having a Christmas Eve dinner with the neighbors, then before bed Kuya will say goodby to our shelf elf Squeak, who will fly back to the North Pole to hang out with Santa until next year's holiday season.
