09/December/2015, Day 343. Wednesday.
I suppose the highlight of the day was the parent-teacher conference at Kuya's school. Grump and Sweetie were a bit apprehensive about it, but it went really, really well. His teachers identified basically the same problems as at his other school, (lack of independence, and an inability to finish tasks without help), but instead of then saying "he has no business being in first grade", they explained how they were working with him to bring him up to speed, and then praised him for the things he is good at.
The second wonderful outcome from this meeting related to Kuya being picked on recently by two older kids. Once it was brought up that Kuya was being punched, (Grump had even witnessed this last Friday, during the school field trip), the teachers said this is unacceptable, and that they would immediately correct the problem. Sure enough, right after Grump and Sweetie left, the teachers talked to the other two boys, and made them apologize to Kuya. Now I realize that kids will be kids and punching is an unfortunate part of life, but just the fact that the teachers made any effort at all to rectify the situation is commendable.
Other than that ..... it was just another day of the same old routine here in central Georgia.
Goodnight all.
