28/September/2017 - Down the Rabbit Hole

If you too want to be like Old Grump, and spend WAY TOO MUCH TIME fussing around with various "make money on the internet" schemes, then by all means head over to the Beer Money Forum!

Yes, this is yet another pictureless day.  I'm going to start prodding Old Grump to be more mindful of taking daily pics, but until this blog catches up with the present time, it won't do much good.  (Nobody that I know of has gone back in time successfully.)  But at least now you know what he has been wasting all his time on.

27/September/2017 - Be Careful Whose Pic You Steal!

Rather than just give you the bad news again today, (yep ..... there are no family pics), I thought I'd share with you a "funny" story about Old Grump.

Old Grump has several websites, and belongs to many forums, and on these websites and forums he has been using the following pic as his "avatar":

Funny, cool pic, huh?

Well, Grump certainly thought so, until today, when he was informed that the person in this pic is none other than the notorious Jimmy Savile, the pedophile philanthropist.  Ugh!

Time for Grump to change his avatar!

26/September/2017 - Cave Dwellers

Early in the morning Kuya and Dodong decided to hang out in their "cave".

Later in the day, at karate class, Kuya was busy perfecting the dreaded "hopping frog" move:

In the evening we went out to dinner.  Sweetie tried to get a nice photo of her boys.  Here are the results:

25/September/2017 - Ride 'em, Cowboy!

Today Dodong and Sweetie took center stage.

Hi Sweetie!  Hi Dodong!

Dodong put on his cowboy hat, then moseyed on into the kitchen for some chow:

Got any grub fer a hungry cowboy, partner?

After a satisfying meal, it was time to saddle up his "horse" and ride off into the sunset:

Giddy up cowboy!

Later in the evening, as we were getting ready for bed, we had a visit from the ghost of cowboys past:

24/September/2017 - El Void, Redux

I know this is getting irritating and boring, but today is another "void" (pictureless) day.

The problem is Old Grump is spending so much time fussing with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies that between that pursuit and napping, he doesn't have time to take any pics.  (Yeah, I know ..... that is really, really pathetic.)

Until it is proven that messing with cryptocurrencies actually brings wealth, (to data Grump has only LOST money), I'm reluctant to publicize what he is doing, but if it does work out well, you can bet I'll be posting links to all the places where he is reaping big bags of money.

Until then ...... Peace!

23/September/2017 - Dodong in a Box!

Today Dodong demonstrated just how flexible he is, by climbing into a small box.

It's fun in here!

Later in the day, there was work to be done, namely, building with the blocks.

22/September/2017 - Aw Geez, another Void Day

Well, due to my laziness and ineptitude, today is another undocumented day.

It was a Friday, which, before Old Grump "retired", was a special day.  Now Fridays seem just like any other weekday, with Sweetie attempting to teach Kuya, and Grump and Lola taking turns watching Dodong.

I'm sure some really cool, neat stuff happened.  I just can't remember any of it.

P.S.  -  If you're really bored, you can always check out Grump's blog,

21/September/2017 - Huh?

Lots of cool stuff happened today, but I'll be darned if I remember what.  (If I would get off my large posterior and actually update this blog in a timely manner, then maybe I would recall the events of each day!)

Anyway, here are some pics of Old Grump and Dodong out somewhere doing something.

You want us to do WHAT?

20/September/2017 - Serious Building!

Sometimes, if you want to build your block castles "just right", you have throw yourself into your work.

Proud of his work!

After a hard day's work castle building, it's good to relax by helping Sweetie shop for clothes at Belk:

Kuya had a busy day too.  After school, he went to his karate lesson.

19/September/2017 - Young Builders

In the afternoon, after Kuya was out of school, Dodong and Kuya got busy with the blocks.

Dodong also demonstrated his ability to work with material other than wood, building this "duck", (the yellow is the beak), with large plastic interlocking pieces.

18/September/2017 - Back to School

Today was Monday, so Kuya had to "go back" to school.

Kuya relaxing at "school"

Old Grump and Dodong made a trip to the local Chick-fil-A.  Dodong had fun at the playground.

He also got a small snack, chocolate milk and chicken nuggets.

Later in the day, Grump and Dodong made this nice tower out of blocks.

17/September/2017 - Fruit

Pics of some of the fruit we got at the Buford Highway Farmer's Market yesterday:

White Dates
These "white dates" were surprisingly good.  The texture was crunchy, but they were very sweet.

I have no idea what these actually are, (immature dates?), but I would buy them again.

16/September/2017 - Apple Picking

Today we drove about an hour north of Atlanta, near the north Georgia town of Ellijay, to go apple picking at B. J. Reese Orchards.

Thankfully God helped Old Grump manage behind the steering wheel of our car, as he was coughing and extremely tired from several nights of little sleep.  (STUPID cough!!)  Traffic was light as we crossed through Atlanta both times, and miraculously we weren't stuck behind any wrecks on any of the interstates.

Dodong didn't want to leave!

After picking lots of apples we drove back to Atlanta, stopping briefly at the Buford Highway Farmer's Market, before finishing our long drive home.

Although it was a long day, and Grump got very tired and grump by the end of it, we all had a great time, and everyone was glad we went.

15/September/2017 - The DAB Dance

Today the boys did an impromptu "Dab" dance in the kitchen:

Cool, huh?

It was a neat dance, even if a fat Old Grump intruded at the end.

We also uploaded it to YouTube here:, as Blogger doesn't always seem able to play the video.

14/September/2017 - Dodong's Flying Machines

Amongst all the undocumented craziness of today, Dodong somehow obtained a little flying airplane that he had Grump assemble for him.

Dodong and his unassembled airplane
It was a cheap thing, made of styrofoam, but it provided a few hours of fun as we took turns throwing from the stairway landing into the living room below.

In the afternoon, Dodong had to go to the dentist!  He did very well, facing the upcoming dental horrors with the courage we have come to expect of him.

13/September/2017 - Piano Lessons

The big news of the day was that Kuya had a piano lesson.  He normally has his piano lessons on Mondays, but had missed due to Labor Day, and then the stupid hurricane, so it was decided that he needed to squeeze a lesson in somehow, much to Kuya's chagrin:

Do I have to go to Piano Lesson today?

Folks around here were still recovering from Monday's nasty weather.  More roads were beginning to be opened up, and most of the refugees from Florida had started back home.
