2016/Feb/07 - Mellow Sunday

It was a relaxed Sunday.  We woke up kinda early, then bundled up to go out in the chilly air.

We had an early breakfast at Panera Bread.  We got there so early, there were hardly any other customers.

After breakfast Grump and Sweetie went shopping.  Whilst out and about, they came upon a large garage sale.  Grump bought a bunch of CDs for 50¢ each.

Back home, all their shopping chores over, Grump and Sweetie relaxed the rest of the day with the rest of the family.  Now by "relaxed" I mean they scurried about trying to keep Dodong from tearing things up and/or hurting himself, but with Lola's help they were mostly successful.

2016/Feb/06 - Cold but Nice

The day started off ridiculously early, with both Kuya and Dodong awakening at 5:00 am!

Whilst Grump did what he usually does, and complained about having to get out of bed so darn early on a Saturday, Lola, (who seemingly never complains), just shrugged off the nuisance and got down to work, washing dishes before the sun came up.

Our next tragedy was that we ran out of green tea:

This is especially embarrassing for proprietors of an online tea shop!  We rectified this later in the day by going on a tea buying excursion, but still ..... one should NEVER run out of green tea.  (I can't imagine the horror should we ever run out of black tea!)

It was a cold but clear day here in central Georgia.  Sweetie and Grump ran several errands in the morning, then soon it was time for lunch.

After lunch it was nap time.  First in bed, and to sleep, was Dodong.

He was joined soon after by Grump, and then just a few minutes after that by Kuya.

All three boys slept soundly for a couple hours until Sweetie and Lola woke them up later in the afternoon.

In the evening we had visitors once again, consisting of Mama Sue, Ms. M, and their families.  Kuya and Dodong enjoyed playing with other kids; Sweetie and Lola enjoyed chatting with the other women in Bisaya, and Grump enjoyed hiding away by himself upstairs working on the computer.

Now it is late, and time for bed.  Another day comes to a close.

2016/Feb/05 - EXTREME Tiredness!

Good Lord was the Old Grump tired today, almost to the point of exhaustion and collapse!  What happened is that last night, when working on our website, ( http://tea-universe.com ), he noticed that the Amazon affiliate account we had linked to it had been canceled!  This means no commissions!  AAAHHHHH!!!

Needless to say Grump was so upset by this he didn't sleep well at all.  But fortunately tonight he was able to contact the Amazon folks, and all the snags have been worked out.

Despite being in a near-zombie like condition, he went to work anyway.  Fortunately his team lead was occupied with other disasters, and left him alone until very late in the day.  And when she did talk to him, she was very nice, and expressed concern for his repetitive lack of sleep.

I know this is gonna sound incredible and pathetic, but would you believe the Grump forgot the daily WonderPoll AGAIN, for the third day in a row!!

But that's okay.  It's Friday, and all is well with the world.

2016/Feb/04 - He Forgot Again!

Would you believe that Old Grump forgot to bring home the WonderPoll calendar page again!!  Good Lord!  The poor old boy must be senile!

It was a fairly nice day in central Georgia today, but not as nice as Tuesday and Wednesday morning. (Wednesday afternoon and evening it rained really hard.)  So Lola and Sweetie went out in the yard again, and finished up the work they started yesterday.

They created this new bed that they will grow okra in once the weather warms up.

Underneath all those leaves is cardboard, to keep the weeds from poking through.

The plants in our garage are struggling to survive.  The calamondins, lemon grass, and pineapples should make it, but several pots of impatiens have turned to mush.

The pile of cardboard on the left will be used in the spring when we clean up our veggie/flower beds, or make new ones.

Finally, remember that yesterday Sweetie and Lola pulled up some of Grump's plants, causing him to fuss at everyone?  He insisted that Sweetie go out and recover his plants, putting them in the garage until he could replant them.  Well, she did that.  Here they are:

Now if you know Grump, you know that he's basically lazy.  These plants will probably remain in this bucket until they rot.

Dinner was a yummy variant of arroz al al cubana that Sweetie cooked up:

After dinner Dodong, Kuya, Sweetie, and Lola listened to Charlie Puth on YouTube, while Grump ran away to play on the computer upstairs.  (Supposedly to work on our website, Tea Universe, but with Grump you never know what he is really up to!)

2016/Feb/03 - Another Humpy Day

So something or other must have happened today, but I guess I was too tired to record it?

Grump snapped a pic of himself when he got home from work.  Pretty grubby, huh?

Sweetie and Lola did a whole bunch of work in the yard today.  Unfortunately they tore up some of Grump's plants in the process, (he is NOT a very tidy gardener, to say the least!), and so he of course snorted and snarled about that all evening.

Once again, Grump forgot to bring the WonderPoll calendar page home from work.

Later in the evening Grump did putter around a bit with our online store, Tea Universe, and managed to write another "novice affiliate" post.  After that, we all went to bed early.

2016/Feb/02 - Tiredness

The adults are all tired tonight.  The old man, (Grump), didn't sleep too well, and Lola and Sweetie worked in the yard most of the day, enjoying the nice temps and sunshine until it started to rain in the late afternoon.

The kids sense this, so OF COURSE they are all wound up, particularly Dodong.  Sweetie is having a heck of a time trying to get him to go to sleep.

Work continues on our website, http://tea-universe.com .  It is basically a front-end to Amazon.  Hopefully any commissions we get will be worth the effort advertising from Amazon.

Grump also started up another blogger site, http://tea-frenzy.blogspot.com , to help drive traffic to Tea Universe.

Dinner was spaghetti, Filipino style.  Yummy!

2016/Feb/01 - A Happy Day

Today was a lot a fun.  Grump had a good day at work, Kuya had a good day at school, and Sweetie, Dodong, and Lola all had a good day at home.

But the fun started after work/school.  First Kuya went to his piano lesson:

Now from this picture you may think Kuya had a BAD piano lesson, but the truth is the opposite: he had a very good piano lesson.  Hooray for Kuya!

After the piano lessons were over Grump and Sweetie picked up the leaves a neighbor thoughtfully bags and puts out at the curb for us, and after a few trips in the car we now have nine new bags of leaves in our yard, waiting to be spread on our gardens.
