03/July/2017 - Lockerly Arboretum

Today we, (Dodong, Sweetie, Grump, and our friend Judy), went on a field trip to Milledgeville, GA, to visit the Lockerly Arboretum.

Now Grump is in the picture too!

Dodong discovered something "interesting" crawling on the ground!

They were all over the place!

What could they be?

They were colorful, giant grasshoppers!

Inside this pavilion was a hand operated well.

Judy showed Dodong how to pump for water.

Back home, Judy diligently went to work yet again, this time fixing the shelves in the garage we had smashed the car into a few days ago.

She can fix anything!

Hooray for Judy!  Our house is in so much better shape thanks to her efforts during her visit.

Peace!

02/July/2017 - Curtain Rods

Today was exciting because Curtain Rods magically appeared in our living room!

Check out the new Curtain Rods!

And just how did these curtain rods get hung on our walls?  Does it have anything to do with our guest Judy?

Hi Judy!

Before we answer those questions, we need to report an exciting development.  Dodong has begun peeing in the toilet!  Okay, in this case it was the shower, but that is still a fantastic accomplishment.

After lunch we, (Judy, Sweetie, Grump and Dodong  -  Kuya, (iPad addict), and Lola stayed home), drove to Byron. Whilst Judy and Sweetie shopped at the Big Peach Antiques, Grump and Dodong hung out at the cool playground at the nearby Burger King.

Slide!

When we got back home, Judy finished putting up the curtain rods for us.  (You really didn't think that Grump hung the curtain rods, did you?)

Judy diligently worked to hang the curtain rods

Hooray for Judy!!

Peace!

01/July/2017 - Oops!

We were so excited!  Our friend Judy was coming for a visit!

Dodong helped us with some last minute shopping.

And then, when we were moving around our cars back home, it happened: we accidentally drove into one of the "Ashely Special", (don't ask!), shelving units in the garage, tearing it up and messing up Sweetie's car.

Phooey!

Damaged Car and Damaged Shelf

Sweetie's Shoe Rack was Completely Destroyed

Ouch!!

Not the best way to start a holiday weekend, huh?

Peace!

30/June/2017 - Back Home

The work week finally ended, and Grump came back home.  Hooray!

Dodong continued his explorations of water, using any means available to him to explore this interesting liquid.

Sweetie, Grump, and Dodong went to Lowes in the evening; Dodong helped carry some of their purchases:
Dodong carrying ...... ???

And what was it that Sweetie and Grump purchased, and that Dodong helped carry?

Carrying a Curtain Rod
It looks like a curtain rod, doesn't it?

In fact, that's what they purchased: four curtain rods.  Knowing how much Grump HATES to mount curtain rods, isn't it a bit odd that they purchased four of them at the start of a holiday weekend?  Why would they do such a thing?  Could it possibly have something to do with the upcoming visit of their friend Judy?

Stay tuned!

29/June/2017 - Another Day

Whilst walking at lunch today, Grump saw this little window garden:

Gardening on a Windowsill
That's good enough garden for a few cherry tomatoes, a few hot peppers, and some herb leaves.

Back home, Dodong thought it would be a good idea to examine the contents of Sweetie's purse.  (Actually, that's NOT a good idea!)

28/June/2017 - Oh No! A Critter!!

If you've been following these posts, you probably know that we have some pretty nice gardens that Lola tends to back home in Macon.  She grows corn, string beans, cherry tomatoes, eggplant, okra, camote, (sweet potatoes), squash, and several types of Filipino veggies that are unknown to me.

She waters her gardens at least every other day, and watches like a hawk for bugs and other pests.  (Tomato hornworms are smashed on sight!)

So imagine our consternation when, this morning, an uninvited critter meandered into our yard:

A Small, Mobile, Plant Destroying Machine
It wasn't just any critter; it was a RABBIT!

We sure don't need no "wascally wabbits" munching on our tender garden plants!  Lola shooed it away, but it may be back.  Grump will have to lay down an extra layer of "Liquid Fence" when he gets home this weekend.

Grrr ..... first deer, now rabbits are seeking to make a meal in our gardens.  I wonder what is next?

Peace!

27/June/2017 - More Stuff

It was another workday during which Old Grump walked about during lunch and took some pics.

Meanwhile, back in Macon, Dodong found all of this amusing.
