01/September/2017 - Sweetie's Birthday Dinner

Today Grump and Dodong continued their castle building endeavors:

He was so happy that he felt the need to express himself by writing with a PERMANENT marker on our bedroom wall!

It's a wonderful drawing of a magic man, but Grump and Sweetie would like it even more if it were not on our wall.


The highlight of the day was Sweetie's birthday dinner.  She and Grump went to the ever wonderful Natalia's, and had a scrumptious meal.  Sweetie even wore her new birthday dress!

31/August/2017 - Another Day at Home

Today was just another day at home for us.

Dodong has gotten in the habit of coming shopping with us.

It has also become routine for Dodong to spend several hours with Grump upstairs in the toy/computer room.

30/August/2017 - Sweetie's Birthday!!

Today was Sweetie's birthday!  She is 29 years old .... again!!  (She will ALWAYS be young at heart!)

Since it was a school day, celebrations were brief.  Sweetie got a birthday card, (with some birthday loot inside!), then it was back to school for her and Kuya.

Meanwhile, Grump and Dodong went to the indoor playground at the local Chick-fil-A.

For dinner, Sweetie cooked up a delicious meal of rice, tuna, and veggies straight from Lola's gardens:

29/August/2017 - Amerson Park and Karate

It was yet another day of babysitting for Old Grump.

This morning he and Dodong went to Amerson River Park.  Dodong had a much better time than he did the last time they went there, probably because the playground was dry, as a few days had passed without rain.

This particular playground toy was Dodong's favorite, once he got used to it.  With a giant spring on the bottom, you get bounced around back and forth, and side to side, if someone else, (e.g., Grump), pushes and pulls you.

In the evening Kuya had his karate class again.

Dodong came along this time, and was upset he couldn't doing any chopping or kicking.

28/August/2017 - Piano Lessons and Pillow Fights

On most Mondays Kuya goes to his piano lesson.  Since Grump is "retired", it is his responsibility to drive Kuya to his piano lesson.

Once it was time for bed, some excitement started: Kuya and Dodong started a pillow fight.

27/August/2017 - Waiting for the Museum to Open

Old Grump has discovered, much to his chagrin, that being retired really means that he is now available for babysitting duty on a daily basis.  Today was one of those days where he mostly babysat.

The day started off as most weekend days do, with the boys snuggled up with their iPads.

However, by late morning Sweetie had decided that she was going to do a lot of cooking, so Grump was given the assignment of taking the boys out to the Museum of Arts and Sciences.

Since it was a Sunday the Museum didn't open until 1:00 pm.  Grump, Kuya, and Dodong got there about 20 minutes early, so while they were waiting for the Museum to open, they walked around the Museum grounds.

The best part of the museum is a mini-zoo which contains a large cage of small monkeys.  It's fun for the visitors to gaze at the monkeys, and vice-versa!

26/August/2017 - Another Missing Day

Today will be another one of those "undocumented" days, because there are no pics to post.  And if there aren't any pics, then .... well, it didn't happen!

Meanwhile, in an alternate universe, the malevolent Forced Tickler chuckles softly to himself.  Turning to his pet leech, he utters in his slovenly language, "We foiled them again."  The sickly sun of his home planet sullenly sets, and his mood becomes more pensive.  Because who really gives a darn about such a silly imaginary character anyway?
