20/December/2014, Day 354. Saturday.
I'm getting hollered at to "come to bed", so I'll have to keep this short.
Sweetie went out to lunch with some of her friends. They went to Fountain of Juice, which relocated further down Vineville, in the same group of stores as Yvonnes Natural Foods. Sweetie says the new location is really nice.
Grump and Sweetie went to Goodwill to drop off some things Dodong is growing out of. We already knew they wouldn't take a crib; would you believe that they are unable, because of legal liability, to take a stroller? Our crazy legal system will eventually be the death of us!
Per Sweetie's commands, we moved the Grump's desk from the office upstairs into the bedroom. Not sure how this will work out, but Sweetie is usually right about furniture placement.

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 353
19/December/2014, Day 353. Friday.
Back when I used to write these "A Day in a Year in a Life" posts on PostAnyArticle, I dreaded days like today, when by the end of the day I am so bone tired that the last thing I want to do is sit down in front of a computer and type in an article. Phooey!
What happened was that Kuya for some inexplicable reason woke up at 5:00 am again! And, of course, once awake he just can't be quiet, nor sit still. It's hard to sleep with a rowdy five year old jumping on your head!
This is two days in a row now that I haven't gotten a good night's sleep because of his antics. Grrr!!
Well, at least everyone else had a good day. Sweetie, Lola, Dodong, and Kuya, (who is home on Christmas break), all went to the outdoor mall this afternoon and walked around in the pleasant sunshine. And Sweetie even refrained from buying anything!
That's it for today. It's not even 7:00 pm yet, but I'm going to go get ready for bed.

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 352
18/December/2014, Day 352. Thursday.
The day, (or, more precisely, the night before), started out rocky. For some reason Kuya slept very poorly, waking up many times through the night coughing and crying, and at one point crying out, "I want to eat the brown stuff!" He finally succeeded in waking up Dodong, which caused Grump to yell at him, which made him cry even more. Ugh.
In the evening Lola feed Dodong, then Sweetie gave him some baby treats which Grump TOLD HER NOT TO DO, as Grump believed Dodong was still too young to handle them properly. Dodong immediately began to choke, then vomited up all his food all over himself and his high-chair. Grump was livid! He yelled at Sweetie, then with Lola's help cleaned up poor Dodong.
But ..... every day is a gift from God. Today was a gift too, just a little different than most days.

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 351
I'm kinda tired right now, so I don't feel like writing much. But it was another pleasant winter day here in central Georgia.
Old Sweaty Grump has been taking the stairs at work, (four flights of stairs from the basement!), and he has been making an effort to climb up them at least five times a day. Hooray for him! It's his only exercise, but maybe it will help him lose some weight.
Speaking of weight, Sweetie needs to go on a diet of her own! Too much fattening American food, I guess. She says she will seriously start losing weight, but only once Dodong stops breast feeding.
Kuya is doing great.
Lola has her first head cold, but she acts as if nothing is wrong. She continues to cook and clean and do any task around the house that needs doing, while Grump continues to sit on his fat butt.
Everybody needs a Lola!

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 350
16/December/2014, Day 350. Tuesday.
The adventure continues!
When we last left off, we were still trying to work with the recalcitrant bureacrats at Immigration to get a VISA for Lola to come over from the Philippines and stay with us. Several months and a few letters from our Congressional Representative later, Immigration finally relented, and Lola had her VISA. She arrived here in early October, and has been a HUGE blessing. She helps Sweetie in the kitchen, and with the cleaning and laundry, and has been instrumental in keeping Kuya from battering Dodong. I have no idea how Sweetie coped with Kuya and Dodong all by herself this summer!
The other "gossip" is that Witch has been stirring up trouble with Mama Sue's Bible study group. She managed to turn Bitch against all of us, and is working on Clueless. It's a sad situation, particularly for Witch's little boy, Big Sigh. Witch and her friend Bitch are openly fighting with Mama Sue and Ms. M, both of whom are decent Filipinas and friends of ours. Pathetic!
Moving on from that nonsense, today was a mostly quiet day at work for Old Sweaty Grump. Kuya had a half day of school, following by the first day of Christmas Camp. He had a great time, but when he got home, he decided to write on his face with a green magic marker, to look like the Grinch. Unfortunately the green doesn't wash off easily.
Mama, Lola, and Dodong drove over to the mall and did a good amount of walking. While there, Mama bought a nice blouse at Belks that they were just giving away.
But the most exciting news today was with respect to Dodong. While in his playpen, he managed to pull himself up, and was STANDING for several minutes, long enough for Old Sweaty Grump to take some pictures. Way to go Dodong!

Resuming "A Day in a Year in a Life"
"Whatever happened to the "A Day in a Year in a Life" articles?", inquiring minds around the planet ask.
Basically what happened is that the site I was writing them on, PAA, started having "issues", such as malware and other unpleasant surprises. Ugh! So the last entry was Day 205, from July 24, 2014.
But have no fear, loyal readers; starting today, I will continue to write this brief blurbs about our lives on this here blog. So until Google gets a bug up its massive butt and pulls the plug on me, you can read all about our daily struggles, here on www.waypatas.blogspot.com .
Look forward to the continuing adventures of Old Sweaty Grump, Sweetie, Kuya, Dodong, and ..... with her recent arrival from the Philippines, Lola!

A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 182
01/July/2014, Day 182. Tuesday.
A new month begins!
It's been super-duper HOT here in central Georgia! Grump needs to mow the lawn, but he just can't seem to find the enthusiasm to go out and work in this awful heat. He actually appreciated his job today, as working in an air-conditioned building is wonderful this time of year. Besides, several problem tickets assigned to him just magically "resolved themselves" today, so it appears he did a lot of work without actually doing much of anything, which pleases his basically lazy soul.
Kuya has been much gentler towards Dodong this week, but Sweetie must remain constantly vigilant when overseeing the interactions between these two, because it only takes an instant for a life altering accident to occur.
We had a ..... uh, "exciting" dinner tonight. Sweetie had bought a special type of camote when we went shopping this weekend, and she cooked them for dinner tonight. They were "special" all right. Once she started cutting them open, she discovered half of them were rotten! The others were old, dried up, and barely edible. Eating them was like munching on dried cardboard, which was discouraging, especially since they had been boiled.
I guess you have to have a cruddy meal every now and then so that you'll appreciate the good ones all the more.
