02/April/2017 - Fun Day Sunday!

Today was a really, really fun day for us!

But it didn't start out too well.  Soon after we got out of bed, Grump chortled and snarled at everyone to "Hurry up!" so we could arrive downtown early.  It was the last day of the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival, and Grump wanted us all to get there before the huge crowds arrived.

So we all got washed up and dressed as quickly as we could, and zipped down to the festival grounds to find ...... deserted parking lots and closed entrance gates.  The Cherry Blossom Festival didn't open today until noon, and here it was not quite 10:00 am yet.

Oops!

But everything worked out okay.  Grump felt guilty about rushing us all for no reason, so he treated us to brunch at Dovetail, a restaurant we all love.  After a yummy brunch, we all went to the Cherry Blossom Festival.

We looked nice in our pink outfits, even if the parking lot when we first arrived was mostly empty.

You didn't even have to be human to wear pink today!

Grump is "cruising for a bruising" when he acts like this!

Not all the flowers were ruined by the March 14th cold blast.

The Dovetail is a fantastic restaurant located on Cherry Street in downtown Macon.

The boys had to behave today, as we were being "observed"!

After brunch, we headed off with full tummies to the festival grounds.  Rides were free until 1:00 pm, so we took advantage of that discount.  First Kuya and Grump rode a Ferris wheel.

Getting up high!

Very high now!

After the Ferris wheel Kuya and Dodong took a train ride.

Finally, Sweetie and Lola foolishly went with Kuya and Dodong on some nasty spinning ride.  Grump, having experience as an adult riding these spinning carnival rides, refused to get on!

Smiling as the ride starts

OMG - we survived!!

If you're older than 18, ride at your own risk!

After the ride the kids were just fine, but Lola and Sweetie both thought they were going to pass out!

Holding onto Dodong for stability

I will NEVER do that again!!

What better way to settle a spinning head and stomach than to go get some frozen yogurt at the superb Macon Swirls?

It was a wonderful ending to a wonderful day!

Peace!
