2016/September/01 - Brain Scan!

Today was an exciting day, because Old Grump went to the ENT center to get a brain scan!  Well ..... not a brain scan exactly, but rather a CT scan of his sinuses, to try to figure out just why the heck he has chronic sinus problems.

In the hours before the "brain scan", which was scheduled for the afternoon, the day proceeded like any normal homeschool day.  Kuya got one-on-one instruction from his teacher, Sweetie:

While Kuya tended to his studies, Dodong hid out in Lola's room and played with the iPad:

Sweetie's Birthday Flowers were still lovely .....

Unfortunately, the word "lovely" could never be used to describe Grump's Feet!

Ugly Feet!

Okay, I guess it wasn't really necessary to see those ugly feet!

But ...... not all ugly things are unproductive.  For example, our okra plants are looking kinda ratty about now:

But they're still productive.  Here is a pick of one day's harvest.  We get harvests like this about every third day.

And while Grump's Passionflower vines have gotten downright ugly:

They are producing ripe fruits, whose innards are yummy to eat!  (Only if you like the crunchy, wild-scented sweetness of passionflower fruits, of course.)

Eventually it was time for Grump's "brain scan".  He and Sweetie drove to downtown Macon just a ways past the hospital, where for some reason he took these pics:

The results of the scan were that Grump has a chronic infection in his sinuses.  That wasn't too surprising, but the ominous outcome of this was that Grump will have to go back in three weeks or so, after completing a round of antibiotics and (ugh!) steroids.

The last time Grump took steroids he had a reaction to them that caused him to hiccup.  The next few days should be interesting!

Oh ..... and by the way, Sweetie has very pretty feet:

Peace y'all!
