A Day in a Year in a Life / Day 346

12/December/2015, Day 346.  Saturday.

Lots and lots of pics today!

We all got up early and headed to Atlanta, to the fantastic Atlanta Botanical Garden.  (If you live anywhere near Atlanta and you've never been there, git yer butt over there!)  Although the morning was chilly, ominously overcast, and foggy, by the time we pulled into the parking lot the sun finally got its act together and chased away the clouds, resulting in a beautiful day.

We went to the conservatory first.  It was more crowded than we had ever seen it, probably because Santa Claus himself was there for a visit!

Although its been warm here in central Georgia the last few days, we did have several hard frosts already.  So outside of the artificial confines of the conservatory most of the plants have gone into dormancy.

The warm weather has apparently fooled some plants into thinking spring is already here.  Irises, daffodils, and, unfortunately, cherry trees have put out flowers already.  I wonder how these plants will fare once cold weather arrives?

There is a new section of the garden that just opened early in 2015, where there is a most fantastic stone wall.  Seriously, the thing is a work of art!
